3 deg C, overcast.
I went out last night without my camera (needed a break after the wedding pics!) and was shown some more sights by a local. It’s great, getting insight into the history and culture from someone who has a local perspective on the history of the place. It’s one thing to read a book, another thing entirely to actually touch a building with your own hands and have a local person tell you about it.
OK, I can admit it now (but I couldn’t yesterday!) – I have a touch of the common cold. Along with my dacha visit, it was probably brought on by the extreme change in weather – from 26 deg C on the day of the wedding, to just 4 deg C with snow flurries yesterday! I don’t suppose I helped it by getting around like I do at home – jeans & t shirt! But that’s what tea, lemon & honey was invented for!
Some plans have been made around coming back to Australia, but not yet set in stone. I’m getting familiar with the alphabet so I can read things, which will make it easier to get around the place.
I’m looking forward to the cruise on Friday! 3 hours onthe river during the Victory Day fireworks should be interesting. As long as there’s plenty of good music and good company, I’ll be fine!
Today might involve a museum or two, and – with any luck – some more photos …
